Explore one of America's founding stories at Alden House Historic Site in Duxbury.  The site is part of the original property granted to Mayflower Passengers John Alden and  Priscilla Mullins in 1627 and home to generations of their descendants. Their courtship was immortalized as one of America’s great love stories in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem “Courtship of Myles Standish”. This is where the couple moved c. 1630 and where they raised 10 children, built a home, and became prosperous farmers while John also served as one of Plymouth colony’s leaders.  Now designated a National Historic Landmark, Alden House Historic Site is still owned by the Alden family through the Alden Kindred of America.

Alden House is open for guided tours June through mid-October, Wednesday through Saturday noon to 4pm and at other times by appointment through December 31. Please email director@alden.org or call 781-934-9092 for more information. Admission is  $8 for adults; $5 for kids and students.  Members of the Alden Kindred are free.

The grounds are open year-round.  A free self-guided tour will help you explore the Alden family story and more of Duxbury’s rich Pilgrim heritage.
